Love this little throwback to when Pickle was smaller and didn't ask a million questions before we could eat our food!
Eating out with little ones can be a joy, and can also feel like a bad decision. My tip tips include:
Take a plate with you, or ask for an extra one. This means you can cool / decant a small amount onto their plate whilst the rest cools. It also means you can control their portion size, as some children's meals can be huge and overwhelming for little ones.
Take some small cutlery. Let's face it, a toddler trying to eat with an adult spoon can be tricky! Imagine you trying to eat with a ladle. If you don't have any with you, ask for a teaspoon. Some places offer child size cutlery too, so worth asking.
Choose the best option for you, with what is available. The occasional meal outside of your 'normal' diet is absolutely ok. Think about what you could add as a side dish to your mea instead of a full meal when they are really little.
Sometimes little ones can be more inclined to eat the same as you, so either be prepared to share and order foods family style, or look for a mini version of yours on the menu.
Take some entertainment and allow some free roaming. Be it a mini notebook and stickers, a car, or something else you choose. Keep meals relaxed and if they need a break away from the table during the meal, letting them can help.
