What the workshop involves

There are fundamental changes you can make to your family habits that will nurture and empower your child's journey to starting solids, and my guiding hand to help you through hte next phase. A 4-week in person course for those with babies under 6 months. Be guided through the complex world of feeding your little one, and your family too. Whether this is your 1st baby or 4th it’s packed with practical tips and support. Starting solids runs as a 4 week block. We will cover: - how to get started - what good looks like - when to start - food safety - easy recipes and meal ideas - allergies - what to buy and what not to buy - fitting feeding them into your lifestyle - cutting through the noise in the media about baby food - why I don't call it weaning My courses are a mixture of discussion, questions and hands-on cooking. For those attending with babies, the cooking is often a demo or simple enough to cook even if babes won't be put down. There are foods to try, info to take home and more. There is opportunity to meet other families and join the Ickle Pickle community. Everything is provided, and allergies can be accommodated. Bring your baby in your arms, a sling or their pram. I have some toys to entertain them with but feel free to bring your own too. Babies are welcome to feed, sleep, shout, cry and everything in-between during the course. My starting solids course runs for 4 weeks from Colton Methodist Church. There is lots of parking, level access and plenty of space for prams too.
