Hello from Ickle Pickle

You go-to for feeding your family from the very start. Their journey with food starts from before they are born and your journey into family life should also be a tasty one - which is where Ickle Pickle from Pickle Kitchen comes in.

I'm here to guide and support you through the end of your antenatal journey, transition into the newborn phase and beyond into the messy joy of starting solids.

Why starting early matters

Let's face it, food is essential to life. But it goes beyond that.

Food isn't about just nutrition, but instead food has the power to nurture, support and uplift through the newborn phase. And there are fundamental changes you can make to your family habits that will nurture and empower your child's journey to starting solids.

My newborn phase with Pickle was tough. Like nothing we had been prepared for. And food often fell to be a stress, a hassle, a grab anything. When really, what we needed was to fuel our bodies, our soul and be there without a thought. Some become parents with a village, some don't and some do have a village but still feel lost and hungry! Fast forward to falling pregnant with Ickle Pickle, and the drive in my soul to change how we went through the newborn phase was immense - and part of that was making sure we ate differently.

How to join

There are 2 courses available, depending on the stage your family is at:

Feeding fundamentals

For antenatal families and those in the early newborn phase

Starting solids

For those with babies age 4 months up

What to expect

My courses are a mixture of discussion, questions and hands-on cooking. For those attending with babies, the cooking is often a demo or simple enough to cook even if babes won't be put down. There are foods to try, info to take home and more.

Feeding fundamentals runs as a one off session and starting solids runs as a 4 week block. There is opportunity to meet other families and join the Ickle Pickle community.

Everything is provided, and allergies can be accomodated.

"From the moment we arrived the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Lucy adapted recipes seamlessly to accommodate our allergies. We loved taking part alongside, not just from the sidelines"
